What is the Eligibility for Passport ?

The following are the eligibility criteria that should be fulfilled:

  1. Indian citizens who are 18 years and above can apply

  2. Passport is valid for five years or until the child turns 18 years whichever is earlier, for children below 18 years

  3. A 10-year validity passport is eligible for children aged between 15 and 18 years

  4. Passports that are valid until the children turns 18 years can be applied by the parents as well

  5. An applicant must have a valid age and address proof documents.

Validity and Expiry of a Passport

Here are the details of expiry and validity :

  1. A passport with 36 or 60 pages are valid for 10 years from the issuing date

  2. A passport is valid for five years that are issued to citizens below the age of 18 years

  3. A passport valid for 10 years can be opted for minors between 15 to 18 years of age

  4. A passport can also be valid until the minor turns 18 years of age
